Scans very fast a 600dpi color scan only takes a few seconds. Pros: A great A3 sized scanner for the price, other ones can cost 1000's of dollars.

So all in all I'm going to give this scanner 4 eggs because it is very reasonable in price and I was able to resolve the issues fairly easily, but if you use an aftermarket software to do your scanning for you, be ready to get creative in your workaround. To solve this I took some card stock thickness paper and taped it to the lid bottom, essentially changing the color to white. Acrobat was not able to understand this so was not straightning my scans out. The other problem I had was when using Adobe Acrobat to scan in documents, particularly receipts, I found tha the auto rotate was not working, that was because the scanner lid background is black instead of the normally white backgrounds that most scanners have. If I ever change my mind and want Panel to start opening on it's own, I can simply remove the piece of paper. Overall Review: a small piece of paper and folded it into a gull wing shape and put the v part down in the infrared switch hole, that way the switch will always read as closed. The scanner lid has a piece of plastic that blocks an infrared switch when the lid closes, so I simply took. Being that I repair computers for a living, I thought of a few tricks that could resolve the issue such as editing the regitry entry at Cmdline of or just renaming the panel.exe file to something else such as panelbad.exe but I found a much simpler solution to the problem. Well I was wrong, the same program, called Panel, opens up every time the lid is opened and Mustek didn't incorporate any way to disable it from doing so. Pros: A large format scanner that wont break the bank.Ĭons: After reading all of the bad reviews about the Mustek 1200 Pro Flatbed Scanner and only positive reviews of the 2400 version I thought for sure this scanner wouldn't have the issue of the software that keeps opening every time the scanner lid is opened or at least have some simple way of disabling that software from popping up every time.
